]]>The featured photo for this blog post is from the time I went swimming with sea turtles in Maui, HI. We did not book a tour- we just got ready, went snorkeling and there they were! It was an incredible experience that I wish everyone could enjoy. It's good for the body, mind and spirit. It also made me think about these peaceful animals and how we need to do our part to save one of the planet's endangered species. I was so happy to capture a turtle eating on camera, however, most sea turtles accidentally eat plastic. Once ingested, it can cause a lot of problems for these harmless turtles.
Think about some small changes you and your friends/family could make while still living your life to the fullest. Help spread the word with our sea turtle egg hatchlings or sea turtle bracelets. Wear our new reef-safe sunscreen in the ocean and use a bamboo straw or toothbrush instead of plastic ones. You could be making a positive difference whether you see it or not so, keep it up and know that those small changes will also help the following businesses we support that work to save the sea turtles too:
2. It's good for you!
3. Our quality products include free shipping!
4. It's made in the U.S.A.!
5. You will be supporting a woman-owned, small business!
]]>Nobody is perfect and Eco Mermaids™ will never expect you to be. This is a time to celebrate the little things you are doing to help the Earth and challenge yourself to make a difference by reducing your plastic use. And guess what? Putting an end to single-use plastic is actually better for your health because you will be in charge of making sure the products you use are actually clean. In addition, the brands that we sell, such as Facesoft Towels, have completely eliminated using micro-plastics in their products and don't use plastic in their packaging. The Facesoft Towel seen on little Foxy in the photo is made of charcoal which can also pull toxins from your skin in this hot month. Facesoft towels are good for the environment and good for you. As a former teacher, I'm all about the rewards! Simply try a suggestion below and reward yourself!

I am fortunate enough to have had many safe encounters with sharks and really hope they continue to thrive as they are meant to. This website was founded on the basis of protecting the Earth and mankind every day. Our brands donate to beneficial causes, such as the Ocean Foundation from Vitamin Sea apparel and the Loggerhead Marine Life Center with Charming Shark jewelry. Check out the cute shark earrings or real shark tooth necklaces today. From our packaging to the materials, every little bit helps and you can always feel good about yourself for simply being a part of the Eco Mermaids tribe. Happy Shark Week!
P.S. Does anyone want to go swimming with whale sharks this summer?
